Product is fed from an infeed conveyor and loaded into individual buckets. Each collator consists of two groups of buckets attached to separate drive chains/belts. Buckets index as product is received. Product is contained in separate buckets. Once all buckets of group “A” are filled, they are advanced forward to the loading position. While group “A” is in the loading position, the buckets in group “B” are indexing forward to receive product. Once product is transferred from group “A”, it advances forward so that the first bucket of group “A” is directly behind the last bucket of group “B” and begins indexing in time with group “B”.
